Full Description
A possible small ditch-defined rectilinear enclosure and adjacent pit-defined enclosure of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs as poorly defined cropmarks, centred on TM 435925, Beccles Marshes. The ditched enclosure is circa 18 by 16 metres in size. A number of discrete cropmarks possibly forming over large post holes, define a roughly square enclosure abutting the eastern side of the ditched enclosure. A possible boundary, partly ditched and partly pit defined, may extend southwards from the ditched enclosure for approximately 90 metres. It is likely all these features predated the drainage of the surrounding marsh.
