Full Description

A possible rectilinear ditched enclosure of unknown date and function is visible to the east of possible enclosures BCC 062 and the relict flood bank BCC 063, as a cropmark on aerial photographs, on the northern edge of Beccles marshes at circa TM 441922, Beccles parish. The enclosure is roughly 85 by 55 metres in size, with the long axis orientated approximately NNE-SSW. Although it is not possible to confidently ascribe a date to the enclosure, it is on a similar alignment to the enclosures recorded in BCC 063 which may predate the flood defences, and this site may therefore be f similar date.
