Full Description

Ditched field boundaries of probable post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks approximately 500 metres to the north-east of North Cove Hall, North Cove parish, centred on circa TM 459898. Although some of the boundaries recorded here are marked on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of circa 1884, they have all been transcribed to illustrate that those boundaries which are not, were probably part of the same system of land division. Of possible interest is the cropmark to the north of the complex which appears to partly correspond with the line of the parish boundary. This may be coincidental, but the occurrence of WGM 013 to the south which also follows the parish boundary makes this unlikely. (S1-S3)
