Monitoring of works at 1-3 High Street showed thick archaeological deposits to a depth of c.3m at the rear of the property. This indicated a deep series of pits or other cut features that contained medieval and Saxon pottery.

Archaeological invetsigations revealed evidence of Late Bronze Age settlement including a regionally significant assemblage of briquetage.

10 Church Street dates from the early years of the 15th century and is one of the best preserved medieval houses in Lavenham. 9 Church Street appears to have built as an extension to 10 Church Street rather than a separate house.

Possible ring ditch cropmark, circa 16m in diameter, visible on grass football pitch (S1), just over 200m from ring ditch, FOS 008.
