Medieval to Early Post Medieval quarry pits, cess pits and a well identified during excavation work at 1 Cobbold Street. A possible Anglo-Saxon ditch was also identified.

1 Lady Street was proably constructed in the late-15th or early-16th century as an open-framed extension of two bays against the rear wall of the building that formerly occupied the site of the Guildhall.

Evaluation prior to extension of a factory revealed a buried soil with associated lithic implements, and a burnt area associated with Iron Age pottery.
