Description

WEYBREAD UPPER WEYBREAD TM 27 NW 5/137 Oak Farm Cottage -- II Former farmhouse, latterly 2 cottages, now one dwelling. Late C16 with late C19 alterations. Timber framed, encased in red brick. Roof of double Roman tiles. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. 4 windows, late C19 mullion and transom casements with a single horizontal glazing bar to each light; wedge lintols. 2 matching doorways: panelled doors, gabled hoods with drop finials. Internal stack. The hall has a good moulded cross-beamed ceiling with chamfered joists, mostly concealed. Some re-used C17 fielded oak panelling against the cross-passage. Evidence for 2 service doorways, now removed. On the upper floor some of the frame is visible and other timbers are papered over. Listing NGR: TM2262579739
