Description

1989-1991:In 1989, an excavation was carried out in an area to the rear of the bank, referred to as "Adam Grenes Yard" in 1577. It revealed a number of rubbish pits of medieval and post medieval date, along with a late medieval cess pit. A number of pieces of Saxo0Norman pottery were discovered in the earliest layers and at the base of the excavation, some pieces of prehistoric worked flint were found.See S1 for full report.
