Full Description

An excavation was carried out behind the bank in what was referred to as `Adam Grenes Yard' in 1577. A number of rubbish pits of Med and PMed date were located, together with a late Med cess pit. Several small pieces of Saxo-Norman pottery were recovered from the earliest layers (S1)(S2). Further details of features & finds in (S3) and (S4).
