Description
A total of 3 soakaway pits and 3 trial pits were monitored. All three soakaways were flooded after excavation to record how long it took for water to drain away. All three pits were excavated to around 3 meters. The site was covered in concrete slab or tarmac layers and most interventions required the use of a breaker. Trenches then excavated using a JCB with a toothed bucket.
Iron Age and Roman pottery was found in the soakaways as was an undated pit. No finds were found in the trial pits.
