Description

Excavation was carried out ahead of proposed construction of 23 dwellings. This followed trial trench evaluation. The open area excavation conformed to the outline of the footprint of the proposed buildings and new road layout, encompassing an overall area of c.527sqm. The toposil varied in depth 0.3m-0.5m and consisted of homogeneous dark brown clayey sand. A subsoil of variable thickness 0.3m-0.6m was identified in patches across the site and was mid-ginger brown clayey sand. Geological sands were seen in the northwest corner of the stripped area (S1).
