Description
Trial trench evaluation was carried out on behalf of Greene King ahead of the development of a proposed restaurant. Eight trenches were excavated. The natural sand, clay and flint gravel substrates were present at an average depth of 0.89m below modern ground. The general stratigraphic sequence above the top of the natural comprised subsoil 0.46m thick, overlaid by topsoil 0.30m thick which was subsequently overlaid by Modern overburden 0.72m thick (S1).
