Description
Following the field evaluation of a proposed development site a programme of archaeological work was carried out. In the centre of the development area, some 11,730sqm in the vicinity of the prehistoric features identified during evaluation, were subject to monitored soil stripping. The second area of interest was opened for full excavation in order to assess and record the level of Roman features indicated by the evaluation. The area measured 2,229sqm and was machine excavated to the depth of the natural subsoil (S1).
