Full Description
1999: Evaluation trenches exposed a number of scattered prehistoric ditches and a pit, which contained Iron Age and Neoltihic pottery, spread around the centre of the site, as well as a relatively concentrated area of Roman period features towards the north-east corner of the site (S2) - see BLG 017 MSF18641 for Roman features.
1999: Subsequent Monitoring of soil stripping in the area of the scattered prehistoric features revealed a number of possible post-holes and pits, only 6 of which contained datable evidence. A field boundary was also observed containing post-medieval material. It is possible that ploughing has led to the truncation or loss of features in this area (S3).
