Full Description

Fieldwalking by John Newman for SE Suffolk survey located C12 to C14 pottery scatter in NW corner of `field 424', next to road & footpath, in dark soil area, circa 30m across.
Finds listed as transect 10:- 3 rims, 5 body and 1 base sherd Med coarse ware and 1 body sherd Scarborough II ware (C13/C14); transect 11:- 1 rim, 2 body sherds St Neots ware and 10 body sherds Med coarse ware.
Also note coin of Aethelred II found in same area - see BFD Misc Sax. Also 3 flint flakes & a few Med sherds including 1 of flint gritted Med coarse ware from same field (S1).
