Full Description

Circa 1950-1955: Hoard of bronze socketed axes, mostly fragmentary, found in plough soil after removal of field boundary hedge by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) Icklingham. Also `pot shaped bronze slag' found `many years ago' by Mr Herbert Petch, probably from same location? Slag now lost. Four axes seen & drawn (1 complete, 3 broken), other more fragmentary pieces believed to be still in possession of (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S1)(S2).
