Full Description

Scatter of Rom pottery found after a cottage site had been cleared and during site works for a new building (S1). Largely grey wares, but an almost complete Samian base (? from a decorated f.38) was found in a drain trench. Base shows signs of being deliberately shaped into a disc after breaking. Two fragments of pale blue glass. There are some signs that the site continues in the field to the W of the road, where 4 small sherds were found. See also PMed.
