Full Description
1989: C1 `Wing-and-Fanbow' brooch (cf Hattatt, similar No 299). Rear hook, missing spring etc, small catchplate. Wings tinned. File marks on underside. Found `on land over period of years' (S1).
1990: 13 coins (range AD 318-348) found in possession of a metal detector user arrested on this field (S2).
Note Rom coins in Elveden Estate Museum from Elveden Brick Pit area (ELV 006) & 1988 metal detected coins from this area - see ELV Misc.
1994: Area of pottery scatter & extensive and repeated metal detecting by person/s unknown,defined on map (S3).
1998: Report of surface finds of 11 Rom coins over previous (20+) years (S4).
Includes area of coin hoard (ELV 065) and evaluation trencing by NAU Archaeology in 2004 (ELV 059).
2007: HER defined area expanded to include numerous detector finds recorded under Portable Antiquities Scheme.
