Full Description
Three joining Rom sherds found stratified beneath circa 50cm of peat on top of circa 30cm thick gravelly (?plough) soil, overlying natural gravel. Found on section exposed (& cleaned) at E edge of old gravel extraction pit (numbered 5 on Atlas Aggregates plan). See copy of plan & sketch section with site report.
Circa 5m N of animal bones in peat & circa 190m S of wooden piles - see Un.
