Full Description
Late Bronze Age leaf-shaped spearhead with a peg-hole. It appears to be a partial casting failure - on one side the casing of the socket is missing for all but a few millimetres of its length. The socket is also broken off at the peg-hole. The surviving length is 14.1cm. It was found in material dredged from the River Alde, near Langham Bridge, and when found it still had a fragment of the wooden shaft and retaining peg in place (these however appear not to have survived)(S1).
