Full Description

1989: Eleven flint flakes found and one Thetford type ware rim sherd and one 13/14th Century Medieval coarseware body sherd found during watching brief on site of former Suffolk Stadium. About 1m of old topsoil scraped off down to just above sand & gravel. No features seen. Site very low lying, adjacent to River Orwell/Gipping, presumably part of old river floodplain reclaimed in 19th Century. Finds representative of manuring? (S1)

Descriptions of flint finds are broad, dating to a specific period bracket is ill-advised. However, they may be later Prehistoric, based on context, (S5).
