Full Description
Silver sceat of Beonna found in a field belonging to Crows Hall and sold for sixpence to the late Charles Batley, bookseller of Ipswich, who sold it for five pounds to W Till, Corn Dealer of London. Obverse: BEONNA REX, pellet in annulet, runic inscription. Reverse: EFE in Roman characters around saltire cross (S1).
Referred to by J Y Akerman (R1), sold by W Till (S2). Now considerable doubt about the authenticity of the find (S3)(S4).
