Full Description

Excavations for a new lake in front of Hitcham House revealed a charcoal rich dark layer, 15ins thick, beneath 48ins of clayish, silty hillwash. Within the layer was at least one rim of a Rom grey ware storage vessel and an oyster shell (S1).
