Full Description

Fragments of two pewter plates, one with lightly incised decoration, found at a depth of circa 18 inches on S edge of (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in 1983-1984 while metal detecting (S1).
Also a group of coins found with metal detector in the edge of the river. Range from Neo-late C4 but very low in C3 and C4; the Nero-M Aurelius group almost all asses. Possibly votive groups ? (S1).
Miscellaneous metalwork finds from this field include a fragment of enamelled brooch, lion-head stud and decorated bronze binding. A broken bronze human bust attachment, possibly part of a spoon handle (S1).
Also IA coin.
