Full Description

Human bones, probably from a single adult inhumation, found in construction work for radio mast and adjoining building. Section showed feature with probable leg bones in situ, shallow. No other finds (S1).
Possibly barrow (BTM 004 group to E also on Chalk Hill) or later stray - on parish boundary.
10 Dec 1997: Report from forensic archaeologist (S2) of remains of second individual found whilst digging for erection of 2nd radio mast by Eastern Electricity adjacent to mast base. Found with rusted `ferrous blade' probably knife, blade has ancient break, now circa 9cm long, narrowing to short tang circa 2cms long (S3). For details see (S2).
