Summary

Earthwork banks have been recorded from an annotated Ordnance Survey (OS) record map possibly relating to rabbit warren trapping banks or natural features. This record was previously recorded as ELV Misc. Earthwork banks (ELV 197, BNH 174 and IKL 364) have been recorded from aerial photographs within the vicinity of this record however it is not known whether they relate to the same banks as described above.

Full Description

?Rabbit Warren.
"(1) `At right angles to the Way (Icknield) there are several large banks, some 30ft wide, said to be `trapping banks' for rabbits, but are perhaps natural mounds of blown sand, unconnected with the Way'."(S1). Handwritten notation on OS record map at TL 828 776, siting of banks not stated or marked on map. Quote from ?Clark?

Earthwork banks have been recorded from aerial photographs within the vicinity of this record; however, it is not known whether they relate to the same banks as described above. The banks recorded from the aerial photographs have been recorded under ELV 197, BNH 174 and IKL 364 and most likely relate to post medieval boundary banks.
