Full Description

`Following the construction of a lay-by recently, two residents, (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), discovered two skulls and other bones which appeared to be human, and from the crumbling condition were presumed to be old. The bones have been taken by the police. The location of the find was on the road from Levington village to Stratton Hall on the northern side of the road and opposite the point on ordnance survey sheet, TM 23, marked as "St Peter's Church (site of)". The lay-by is directly in front of Levington Hall grounds and is about 20 yards west of the No. 12 public footpath' (S1). ?Part of cemetery associated with St Peter's Church or leper hospital, SNH 002.
Findspot actually in Levington parish.
