Full Description

Thin scatter of Rom grey ware sherds and a shell gritted ware piece found field walking (S1). Close to C4 hoard (BUR 002) and further pottery recorded in field to E (BUR 008). Pottery and ?metalwork found here previously according to landowner. Aesica type brooch and a ?spoon found (S2).

1997: Seven Roman coins, dating between the 3rd and 4th centuries, details in (S3).
Roman bronze brooch fragment, animal plate type, running dog design, front half only. Blue and red enammelling, 23mm in length, details in (S3).
Bronze finger ring fragment, Roman, raised circular bezel, bezel 11mm in diameter, details in (S3).
Bronze knife terminal, iron in slot, zoomorphic bifurcated design, details in (S3).

1994: Silver denarius, dating from AD 193 to 211, details in (S4).
Bronze ring, D section hoop, inscription inside, 7mm in width, 2mm thick, 19mm in diameter, details in (S4).
Silver long cross Edward I penny, details in (S4).
