Full Description
Bronze book clasp, roughly triangular, with a rivet hole at the apex & two at the base. On the reverse, at the base, is a short flange at right angles to the main plate. Some iron corrosion around a blocked rivet hole at the base. Upper side bears a beast (wolf or hound) with its body facing right, the head either looking backwards or upwards. 5.3cm long x 2.9cm wide. A very similar clasp, with a lion looking upwards, is recorded from Mendlesham 007. Found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) with a metal detector 1991 (S1).
