Full Description

Scatter of unglazed C13-C14 pottery, also glazed red earthenware of the C17. Plain roof tile, brick and lava mill stone fragments also present (S1). Site can be identified as lands called Gynners `with a messuage thereon lately built', lying beside the highway called Wood Street, 1619 (S2). By 1699 it is referred to as Gynners `with a messuage thereon heretofore built and now wasted' (S3). Gynners was a free tenement of the manor of Buxhall (S4).
