Full Description

Scatter of potsherds found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), mostly on garden surface & small paddock behind farmhouse. Whole area extensively disturbed (details in parish file). Finds listed (by JN) as 1 rim & 1 body sherd Thetford type ware; 2 rim sherds EMed coarseware; 5 rim, 2 base and 28 body sherds Med coarseware (C13/C14); 1 rim & 10 body sherds Med glazed; 1 body sherd glazed Grimston face jug (C13/C14); 4 rim, 12 body sherds LMed/C16 green glazed wares; 2 body sherds C16/C17 coarseware; 1 base & 5 body sherds stoneware; 2 fragments lava quern. Also modern debris.
Timber framed farmhouse is C16/C17 (S1). Possible Ipswich ware sherd referred to in (S2) not seen. Decorated scored body sherd listed in (S2) as probably ESax, however difficult to date, could be IA, MSax or EMed. Details in file.
