Full Description

Stone axe (also listed under PLS 002), made of a weathered basic igneous rock - black with some rust-red staining. 13.04cm long, maximum width of 7.1cm at the slightly angled blade, tapering to 2.7cm at the butt, 3.6cm thick. 0.53kg in weight. One of a number of axes found in Polstead by a former landowner (S1).
