Full Description

1992: Bronze mount or `casket terminal' in form of beast or dragons head, found metal detecting. Viking period terminal in Urnes style, C11, possibly Anglo-Viking product. Closest parallel from Gotland, Sweden (Stockholm museum 12194). Claimed as possible shrine fittings, more likely secular. Details in (S1)(S2). Drawing in parish file.
