Full Description

Two fragments of a copper tanged dagger found caught up in a piece of agricultural machinery `in the small field behind Church Farm or the one further over' (S1). (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S2).
In two pieces as result of a recent break, however, the tip is missing through an older break. Surface is heavily abraded by being jammed in the machine. Surviving length approximately 18.5cm, maximum width at shoulder 4.95cm, tang 1.6cm wide with slight traces of low flanges, single rivet hole at the base of the tang. Flat blade with bevelled edges, maximum thickness 2mm.
Very early EBA - for other Suffolk examples see Clare 013, Lakenheath 068 and Stuston 014.
