Full Description

September 1992: layer of heavily burnt clay fragments and charcoal left exposed in section by river bank erosion, underlying 1m of hillwash(?) and topsoil. No directly related finds, does not appear to be modern. Also found on edge of river where 1-2m high cliff eroding were one flint scraper, three sherds Med coarseware and PMed tile & brick debris (S1).
