Full Description
January 1990: Initial excavation of area of 1000 sq m fronting Walnut Tree Lane demonstrated heavy C19 disturbance by quarrying - see PMed. Residual finds included IA pottery - details to follow. A small area was found undisturbed in the 1000 sq m, although no IA features were located (S1). Rapid assessment of rest of 6000 sq m plot area located only one further undisturbed area of 250 sq m in SW corner of plot. The features from this area were then excavated and included two IA pits (S1). Details to follow. Also IA, Rom, Med & PMed.
