Full Description

May 1993: Four assessment trenches prior to proposal for building development within urban core and castle outer bailey (? - see FML 001) area of Framlingham. The evaluation revealed evdience of medieval occupation within the northern area of the site which was rperesnted by pitting activity presumably related to backplot activity of properties fronting Bridge Street. This suggests that the Bridge Street frontage was occupied from at least the 11th century onwards. (S1).
