Full Description

September 1993: Scatter of pottery and features exposed following 6m wide topsoil strip, for Anglian Water pipeline, beside road close to Gosbeck Church (GOS 003). Excavation details (S1). Excavation revealed 2 shallow features with finds of pottery, fired clay (oven?), animal bone, some burnt slag, and 1 oyster shell (S2).
Note C14 seal (of John Fochan) and penny of Edward IV (1471-1483) from same field, see GOS Misc (CRN 11271).
