Full Description

1993: Lead, pilgrim's ampulla, originally with pierced handle on upper part of each side - now only stubs of handle survive. One side has ?simple shield with diagonally crossed lines and cross in upper sector above ?shield simple "collar". Other side has series of vertical lines below similar collar. Possibly from Walsingham, Norfolk. Metal detector find? (S1). Note from Spencer B per Newman J, "Very crude saltire cross on reverse may have a human figure associated with it. If so this could only be St Andrew with Bromholm Priory, Norfolk, as a possible source" (S2).
