Full Description
Coin hoard of 28 silver coins, hoard dated c.1505 though date range Edward III - Henry VII, includes 2 Burgundy and 2 Portugese coins. 15 groats, 8 half groats, one penny + foreign (S1).
Metal detected (by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)) from one spot c. 40 x 40ft but with concentration in 6 x 6ft. No container identified. Machine clearance showed no subsoil disturbance (S2).
Findspot not precisely identified but the 6 figure reference is within 200m E to W and correct in relationship to Green edge (i.e. N to S). Location is accepted to be in the expected range for a Medieval toft fronting onto the Green.
Coroners Inquest 25 January 1994 found hoard to be Treasure Trove.
