Full Description
1992: Features and finds located & described during watching brief on construction of new industrial unit. Site stripped to natural. Two small pits (0002 & 0003) with dark brown, charcoal rich, loamy fill. Pit 0002 contained 5 flint-gritted sherds (including 1 rim and 1 base), all rusticated except base, of beaker type, possibly all from one vessel, and burnt flints and 1 burnt quartzite fragment. Also two small scoops with charcoal flecks and a few heavily burnt flints. Unstratified material from close to the pits included 1 sand and grog tempered body sherd of comb-stamped beaker pottery. No other finds or features noted from rest of site. See (S1) for details.
