Full Description

Lead torso plus head of Christ, probably cast in a stone mould, part of a crucifix depicting Christ in suffering, c. late C13. Figure was probably attached by hands and feet (now missing) to a wooden cross. Possibly deliberately damaged and defaced at the Reformation and then thrown away (S1).
Found 1994 by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) with a metal-detector in a field about 150m SSE of Ixworth Thorpe church (S2).
