Full Description

Roman pottery found while laying water pipes up to 3ins deep. 8 sherds grey ware, Claudian or Nero-Vespasian vessel, 6 slightly worn, 2 in better condition show traces of a surface burnish (S1). Part of same pot? Drawing in NWHCM.
Cited NGR on course of River Waveney although in Mettingham parish according to (S1).
Note `Roman remains found' on Norfolk side of river (S2).
