Full Description

Pit exposed on top of Pakefield Cliff, containing C13 and C14 sherds. Further finds "from topsoil on either side of feature", including tile fragments, animal bones, iron nails and probable iron spur. 836 sherds recovered in all, including grey coarse ware, some stoneware (S1). February 1996: NGR corrected from TM 537 894 to TM 5364 8876 after (S2). For other pits in same general location see GSE 028 & 029.
