Full Description

A new mill is referred to at this approximate location in a document in 1560 (S1), and is shown as a post mill on a mound on a map of 1621 (S6)(R1). In 1783 Hodskinson shows a mill possibly at this location although possibly further north along Mill Lane (S2).
It is also shown (at cited NGR) on various other maps from 1824 (S3), located on HER map after OS (S4).
According to Flint, post with roundhouse form, built in 1750 and demolished circa 1953 (S5).
