Full Description
December 1994: Rapid evaluation of single line of trenches traversing former Brackenbury Battery site, prior to construction of sea defences, located multi-period features and finds.
Early Saxon finds consisted of pottery and (?)mussel shells from the fill of a large ditch. A similar fill, without finds, from another substantial ditch may be contemporary. Details in (S2).
