March 1994: (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), metal detected fragment frm end of blade of bronze axe (find number 31) - insufficient to show whether palstave or socketed axe (S1)(S2). From area of Rom scatter.
(see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) another find also listed as find number 24 and described as `Bronze Age bronze fragment: of broken implement, 40mm' (S1). Identification not confirmed. Either rejected as PMed or not seen by John Newman, and certainly not passed on for identification to SAU in Bury.
