Full Description
Bronze balance beam of the Rom period with small silver weighing discs and traces of a chain on one of the terminal rings (S1). The silver discs are set twice as close on one side of the central pivot than on the other. Each end of the balance has finials of 5 ridges. Length 26.3 cms (S2). Reputed to have been found (with metal detector) at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). 1992- Nov 1995: Metal detector finds by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) include Ae3 of Valentinian (AD 364-378) and Colchester derivative double pierced lug type brooch (S3).
