Full Description

Pottery, 25 sherds, semi-complete cordonned wide mouthed jar form. Found in supply trench for newly built garage, circa 2 feet down in sand (S1). Further surface finds in garden include one coin, an As of M Aurelius ? (161- 180), pottery sherds including Nene Valley and Oxford mortaria, tile fragment. A layer of dark soil, possibly a ditch, observed in digging holes for a fence just N of original findspot. Finds from this include tile, pottery (colour coated sherds late C2-C4), animal bone, much oyster shell (S2)(S3).
