Full Description
1995: Metal detector find of bronze `spatula' fragment. Corroded. Oval tool end, almost flat, now bent. Broken handle, probably circular in section. Punched ring & dot decoration at junction of handle and `blade' on both faces. Possibly spatula or book fastening (although decoration on both faces suggests otherwise). Similar to example, with flat strap handle, from West Stow (R1) but more closely parallelled with MSax example from Brandon 018. Drawing in (S1). Also Med(?) gilded bronze mount. Details in (S1). Note LSax handle ? found just to NE - see FLK 004.
