Full Description

Metal detector find of St Edmund memorial penny, early C10 (S1).

Med & PMed metalwork from same area - see (S2).

Bronze strap end. Elongated oval outline. Damaged split end strap junction, broken across two rivet holes. Animal head terminal with deeper dots in ears. Interlace design, very worn. Roughly scratched lozenge at the top.

Bronze brooch, 'Nanheim derivative' type, missing spring, corroded and bent. D-section tapered bow with a slight central angle. Plain, solid catchplate. Length, 55mm.

Ornate double buckle with tapered plate, 32 x 21mm.

Silver half-cut penny, long cross type of Henry III, Class 3 (1248 - 1250). Probably for the moneyer of Lincoln.

Silver penny, long cross type, Edward I, Bristol Mint.

Lead St Nicholas o Boy Biship token, groat size, Rigold's Class I.D.2. 'Neat, inscribed Bury series'. Early 16th century.

Silver Penny, long cross type, Edward I, London mint.

Post medieval bronze fob seal depicting crossed keys.

Post medieval lead sealing fragment.

Lead seal matrix, pointed oval shape, flat with a cast 'Fleur de lys' design and a small pierced lug on the reverse. Has a crescent between a five-pointed star and a five-armed flower/star. Inscription reads 'The Seal of Robert Ploc (?)'. 13th century. Impression taken.

Post medieval bronze fitting, disc with side projections. Two damaged rear lugs, pierced. Decorated with small ring four dot punched lines. Little corrosion.

Silver coin, penny, long cross type. Henry III, Class 1 (1247 - 1248). Obv, Henricus Rex Ang. Rev, Lie Terci Lon. London mint.

Silver coin, half groat. Edward III, London mint.
